Moin Volker, glad you like it. It's a great shipspotting location on the bridge at Lanaye with a beautiful scenery around you. And yes, the older part of the lock complex at Lanaye can be seen in the background, these original locks are no longer used to my knowledge. There are two more chambers (136m x 16m and 225m x 25m) next to the old ones for the normal shipping traffic to and from the Netherlands while the Albert Canal is of course the direct route from Liège to Antwerp. So, many ships can be seen here from this vantage point, it's very recommendable !
