Description:

Carnival's Triumph amongst other Cruise Liners at Manhattan's Passenger Ship Terminal. With a new port in Mew Jersey recently opened, and another in Brooklyn, scenes with this many ships here are probably unlikely. This image was taken sometime between roughtly 1999 and 2001.

It is very interesting to compare the sights and sizes of then and now. In the middle, lovely old REGAL EMPRESS, next berth a giant floating shoe box! Well, I must admit I rather look at the old ones, they're so much more beautiful...

By the way, how old is this picture? Isn't that the old STAR/SHIP ROYALE ex-Federico C. to the far right? She went down in 2001 as the SEABREEZE, didn't she?

Yes, and the vessel to the left is RCCL's "Nordic Empress" which was painted all white and renamed "Empress of the Seas" in May 2005.

Next to her is "Zenith" or "Horizon" (now "Island Star") of Celebrity Cruises.

Best regards Mats
