Description:
F.T. Everard’s coastal tanker ALCHYMIST, built by A. & J. Inglis at Glasgow in 1945 for War service as EMPIRE ORKNEY and purchased by Everard in 1949, was photographed passing close to Battery Point dodging the ebb tide on 30th September 1964. She finally arrived at Bruges on 3rd May 1969 to be broken up.
This photograph, with an extended caption, can also be seen in my book "Bristol Port and Channel Nostalgia" published by Coastal Shipping of Portishead.
