Description:

Former coaster HOOFORT (IMO8203490), with engines removed, used as no-propelled barge, at Fort de France, on March 26th 2009. The tug along side is ALLIANCE.
She had just arrived in Caribbean area and was leaving the dry-dock.
She stayed a long time in Fort de France, unemployed.
Then was anchored in Le Robert bay (east coast of Martinique) and used as shuttle barge between the anchored ships with too much draught to come alongside the quay.
On 2015, dragged anchors during hurricane and stayed some weeks aground.http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=2337408
Later she was refloated and towed towards Port of Spain.
I don't know her fate.

Hi Krispen,
I have contacted the owner of HOOFORT who kindly told me that the HOOFORT was towed from UK to Rotterdam. Then embarked on a semi-sub DOCKWISE and unloaded at Le Marin, a bay in the south part of Martinique Island. Then towed towards Fort de France to be dry-docked.
The photo shows the HOOFORT when leaving the dry-dock.
Now the barge is at Saint-Vincent (West Indies).
Regards,
Yvon

Lovely view Yvon - there is still the mystery to us who follow these old 'Hoo' boats, how she got from Rotterdam (seen here arriving: http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=835285

to Fort de France? I can only assume she was carried, as there seems to be no record of a tug leaving in that direction during that time.
