Sister-ship of "Bonny", IMO# 5208970.
"Bonny" and "Badagry" were both on charter with Petrobras in 1975 on the coast of Brazil, with occasional trips to Uncle Sam, Louisiana to load sulphuric acid for discharge in Brazil. The company was also known as Bulk Acid Shipping Services (BASS). The unlicensed crew of "Bonny" in 1975 were mainly Chileans who had been supporters of the socialist President Salvatore Allende and who were "on the run", and fearful that the if detected by the Brazilian immigration authorities, they would be deported to Chile to an unpleasant fate. I taught them knots and hitches, and the Collision Avoidance Regulations. Forty years later, I still worry about their fate.
