Description:

The Sir John Franklin is towed back to Victoria from Seaspan Shipyard in Esquimalt by the Seaspan Eagle with help from the Seapan Foam, stern, and charles H Cates IV. Launched in December 2017 the Franklin was the first ship in Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy. She has been plaqued with problems including apparent electrical issues and 45 percent of her welds needing to be redone. Seaspan also had to add 8.4 metres to the length of the Franklin and her two sisters because of stability problems with the plans given to them by the Canadian Government of the day. Hopefully she will be able to start sea trials soon. (Photo © Dennis J. Dubinsky.
