Description:
14/11/2018, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. Awaiting shipyard availability following damage assessment.
About 1630 on 08/11/2018 'Alboran' was off the North Coast of Gran Canaria en route for Santa Cruz de Tenerife from Las Palmas.
The weather conditions and visibility were reported as excellent.
The ferry was likely to have been travelling at full speed (30+ knots) when it hit the pontoon/workboat 'Trames Uno' (No IMO) which was being used as a commercially operated dive support vessel on offshore projects (supposedly windfarm electrical cables, but I've seen no evidence of any windfarms in the area).
By a miracle, the Skipper and two crew saw the vessel bearing down on them and jumped into the sea just moments before impact and were later rescued by a Spanish Coast Guard helicopter.
Severe damage to both vessels resulted.
Big questions to be answered of the Alboran!

This Ferry was operating between Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
