The best algerian wines were send in wood barrels, onthe decks.
You can find a picture of one sister ship on this site, the Tlemcen IMO5362623. The author, Hans Pedersen, has published in the eighties a little booklet on the story of the company "Les Cargos algériens", for the society of the ex sailors.

Mitidja was a pure wine tanker 31675hl or 696850 gallons. She was the leading ship of six similar vessels . Three were ordinary freighters and two had a capacity of 6300hl or 167850 gallons.
