Description:

Former Dutch Navy (Jan van Amstel-class) mine sweeper; built at Werf Gusto at Schiedam, Netherlands; 525-ton, 184 ft. long; launched 22Sep36; commissioned Royal Netherlands Navy 29May37; based in former Neth. East Indies. Following the Battles of the Java Sea and Sunda Strait ordered to withdraw to Australia; After serving for a short period with Australian Navy as HMAS Abraham Crijnssen returned to RNN. Decommissioned 1961 and since 1995 on display at RNN Museum at Den Helder, Netherlands.
Moored next to monitor HNLMS SCHORPIOEN (built 1868).
