Description:

Royal Malaysian Navy modified RN Loch-class frigate “Hang Tuah” in the Kelang River off Port Swettenham (now Port Kelang) on 16th July 1968
Builder: Henry Robb, Leith, Scotland
Displacements: 1,574 standard, 2,260 full load
Length overall: 93.57 m
Engines: 2 x triple-expansion steam, 5,500 i.h.p.; twin-screw
Speed: 19.5 knots
Complement: 114 or 140 (sources differ)
Laid down 17th November 1943
Completed 20th October 1944 as HMS “Loch Insh”
Underwent extensive modernisation 1953-54.
Decommissioned 22nd June 1962
Sold to RMN early 1964, refitted at Portsmouth & commissioned KD “Hang Tuah” 12th October
Converted to training ship 1971
Sold for scrapping at Singapore 1977
