s/s JAROSŁAW DĄBROWSKI was an oldest ( and last ) Polish cargo vessel powered by steam - piston engine.
( Triple expansion GEORGE CLARK ) .
Four - partly refrigerated cargo holde ( 4 hatches ).
The vessel was able to accomodate 12 passengers i 6 double cabins .
The vessel ordered by ZEGLUGA POLSKA and later on ( January 1950) an order was handed over to Gdynia America Line. First call to Poland ( Gdynia ) - 06-JAN 1951 . Due to the creation of new Polish company (Polish Ocean Lines ) - Jarosław Dąbrowski was transfered to PLO and designatet for service on Gdynia - Longon - Hull line . She made over 550 voyages to England and back .
JAROSLAW DABROWSKI will remain in my memory foreve.
My grandfather served on this ship for couple of years as a steward ( 1965 - 1968 ) , my father as an engineer
twice : in 1951 and 1962 ... Finaly I was a carpenter onboard just few months before her last voyage .
