Jens, you can see it a bit in the same way of the many Turkish owners do who prefer to use the Maltese flag, rather than the national flag.

Now showing on Marine traffic under flag of Cyprus.

Only good thing about that is I will have to go and get another photo of her :-)

Bob, as I am not that familiar with the consequences of the different Brexit scenarios ("Never stop a rolling stone" as I like to say) what will be the advantage(s) after whatever kind of Brexit) of having changed her flag to an EU country ?

A bit more than a rumour. It's so the ships can remain under the flag of an EU country after this stupid Brexit nonsense
