The "escape" from the Come By Chance refinery in Newfoundland makes for a tale of superb seamanship and derring-do. The captain was banned from Canada as a result but, strangely enough, his next job was with CP Ships (it is said)

The year was 1974, I've got a really bad shot of her from the Tilbury side.
Didn't she do a "runner" from Canada when Court Line went bust so that she could surrender herself in a British port? If I remember, she slipped her moorings and sailed without any assistance.
