Description:

LAID-UP IN LOCH STRIVEN 1983
Shell ‘L-class’ ULCCs and a couple of LNG carriers, the latter staying there for more than a decade.
In this photo from July 1983, the 315,713 dwt LIMOPSIS had been there for five months and in the meantime had been sold and renamed DIANE under the Liberian flag. Lying alongside is LANISTES (311,896 dwt). The other ‘Ls’ were LAMPAS, LITOPIA, LIMNEA and LIPARUS.
In the distance (left of the photo) can be seen the Blue Funnel LNG tankers GASTOR and NESTOR, which lay there from 1978 until 1989.
