BENNEVIS, a modified C3-S-A1 type launched at Tacoma on 8th November 1943 as U.S.S. WILLAPA (designated ACV-53, later CVE-53), is seen passing Brunsbüttel on 19th June 1969 inbound for Hamburg.

She was outfitted by Burrards at Vancouver as a transport carrier but refitted in the U.K. and delivered to the Royal Navy on 5th February 1944 as the Escort Aircaft Carrier H.M.S.PUNCHER, then converted to a cargo ship in 1948
