Description:

VEB Deutsche Seereederei's 1957 Rostock built THALMANN PIONIER is seen passing Hochdonn, Kiel Canal, early on 1st July 1969 during a voyage from Istanbul to Wismar.

Later: 1970 SYMMACHIA
Laid up Piraeus district from about 18.3.77
BU Eleusis Sept 1979

Oddly, the March 1981 Lloyd's Confidential Index states that she was to be renamed ADRIANA STAR. The 1953 built VALIANT I (IMO 5042388) was given that name in 1979 (broken up at Kaohsiung in 1980 after suffering stranding damage on 12.10.79)
