Description:

Unterweser Reederei's GONZENHEIM, launched as a lighter at Bremerhaven in 1942, given an engine in 1949 and lengthened in 1952, is seen in the Kiel Canal passing Hochdonn on 4th July 1969 during a voyage from Riga to Rotterdam.

This vessel is one of a larger serie of barges ordered by the Government of U.S.S.R.
At Chrichton-Vulcan, Turku.
Taken over by Kriegsmarine during the WWII, 9 off were converted to normal
Cargovezels after the war.
