Description:

Photographed passing Portishead, inbound for Avonmouth from East Africa exactly fifty years ago, on 29th January 1969, was Palm Line's 1953 Short Bros, Sunderland, built AFRICA PALM on charter to Eastern Africa National Shipping Line.

Later: 1972 SAVOYDEAN (Gulf Shipping)

on fire at Calcutta 24.7.75 on voyage from Chittagong to Africa with jute and hessian. Declared a constructive total loss. Broken up at Bombay in April 1976.
