This 3 masted schooner has had a rather chequered history.
Originally registered in Lebanon,she was involved in a collision which left her dismasted, her owner ,the Belgian Alfred Fremal used to live frugally on her whilst she was moored in the middle of the bay at Marsaxlokk till in a severe gale she was thrown ashore luckily on the only stretch of sand at Marsaxlokk. She was later towed to Fuel wharf in Valletta harbour, abandoned and last week she foundered.
She was the ex-REX CLIPPER. It looks like this is the end of a once fine sailing vessel.
