KAMIKAWA MARU was abandoned by her crew 12.09.2001 in a position 32.31 S, 26.19 W when water flooded one of the holds. She subsequently sank the following day and although 14 crew were rescued and 9 are missing. KAMIKAWA MARU was on a voyage from Sepetiba Terminal, Brazil, for Tokyo, Japan, with 150000 tonnes of iron ore.
