The D.J.Chandris owned 1954 Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson, Newcastle, built tanker MARIPATROL is seen at Liverpool on 16th December 1979, leaving the port after discharging a cargo of molasses.

She had subsequently arrived at Flushing East on 8th June 1980 from Hamburg but suffered an explosion in one of her tanks and was sold to breakers at Cartagena, arriving there on 18th March 1981.
