Description:

Ferry station Bubendey Ufer on the southern banks of the Elbe river at Hamburg.

You will get almost every seagoing ship arriving at Hamburg or leaving Hamburg when standing at Bubendey Ufer. Exceptions are ships (especially bulkers) sailing into Köhlfleet, but they are few.

When it's sunny you can take good photos of arriving ships until around early or late afternoon (depending on the season, in winter early afternoon, in the summer late afternoon). Good photos from departing ships from around noon.

If it's overcast there are more or less no limitations.

Bubendey Ufer can be reached by harbour ferry (Line 62 starting at Landungsbrücken every 15 minutes), bus (which is quite complicated, please use the ferry) or car. If you go by car and don't know Hamburg use a navigational system and search for "Am Jachthafen" or "Bubendeyweg" as your destination.

Should you wish to spend a few hours or more at Bubendey Ufer don't forget to take something to drink and/or eat with you. There's no takeaway or something similar at or near the station and no lavatories either, but the harbour ferries have lavatories...

Can't think of anything else right now. If you have questions, please ask.

Welcome to Hamburg,
Jens
