history:
1935 Built as MARTIN BAKKE at A/B Götaverken, Göteborg,
Sweden for Skips-A/S Marie Bakke (Knut Knutsen O.A.S.),
Haugesund. Launched 16/12.
1936 Delivered in April.
1938 One more refrigeration compressor installed.
1940 Nortraship became managers in April.
1945 Returned to owners in October.
1963 Ran aground in thick fog 30/11 in River Schelde whilst
on a voyage from Valparaiso, Chile to Antwerp, Belgium with
2.000 t nitrate, 1.600 t fishmeal, 1.000 t bananas and general
cargo. 4 tugs tried to refloat the vessel but she began breaking
and water leaking in to hold 3. Refloated 06/12 after part
unloading and towed to Antwerp. Condemned.
1964 Demolition began 11/01 by Jos de Smedt, Burght, Belgia.
