Description:

US Navy AEGIS and VLS (Vertical Launch System) equipped Ticonderoga Class Guided Missile Cruiser.
She was commissioned in 1989 and conducted her 1st deployment in 1990-1991 with Operation Desert Storm. She was the first US Navy Ship to conduct combat operations on her maiden deployment since World War II. She fire Tomahawk cruise missiles into Iraq and also Bosnia in 1995.
She has conducted many missions in support of NATO and the GWOT (Global War on Terrorism).
She is seen here going east past Fort Monroe Hampton VA for an underway period early in the day before the clouds burned off and with an opposing wind.
She is almost 10,000 tons full load, 567 feet long, has a crew of over 350, and a top speed of over 30 knots.
