Well, it seems what is "on the can" may well be right, and the registers wrong. The owner in 2004 was Şener Petrol Denizcilik ve Ticaret AŞ, Istanbul, and their own website reads "Company started its petroleum shipments in spot market by changing name of 1650dwt LPG tanker named AYGAZ 2 to SELAY-5 in 1991" (and they previously had a bunkering barge FIRTINA-5)

They then went on the use the suffix "S" on other ships, including a later SELAY-S.
Also, the implication is that it was Sener that changed her from LPG to oil products.

It probably is that ship, although her name clearly reads SELAY_5. Somewhere along the road she must have also been converted from the LPG tanker that she was in the first years of her life. First name Aygaz 2.
