BP Tanker Company's 1962 Harland & Wolff, Glasgow, built BRITISH MERLIN is seen passing Portishead, outbound from Avonmouth, fifty years ago today, on 11th April 1969.

She sank following an explosion and fire on 26.11.83 off La Union Province during a voyage from Manila Bay to Poro Point with a cargo of kerosene and gasoline
