They are 85 feet long, weigh 75 tons, and can obtain speeds of up to 45 knots. They have a crew of 10, can carry 8 troops, and armed with 2 25mm Chain Guns in addition to multiple mounts for 30 caliber and 50 caliber machine guns as well 40mm automatic grenade launchers. They also have a stern ramp for RHIBs. The navy currently has a contract for 12 and plans to acquire up to 48 to be operated by Small Boat Units in Little Creek VA and San Diego CA.
