On the The Barents Sea ice,Spring 1977.Photo by Vladimir Kuchumov. The research vessel "TUNETS" owned The Nikolai M. Knipovich Polar Research Institute of Marine Fisheries and Oceanography (Russian: Полярный научно-исследовательский институт морского рыбного хозяйства и океанографии имени Н. М. Книповича), its acronym being PINRO (Russian: ПИНРО), converted in 1958 from a "Pioner" type fishing trawler, Scientific equipment: 4 laboratories, trawl and 2 Oceanographic winches, descent-lifting device for underwater vehicle Север‑1, fishing gear.It carried out scientific research in the Barents, Norwegian, Greenland seas, on the Mid-Atlantic ridge. He made 109 scientific research cruises and 13 with the use of an underwater vehicle. Most scientific expeditions were in the Barents sea (up to max. high latitudes) to study cod.In 1966 reached a record for not ice-class ships of point 8114' North latitude. In 1967 about the West Spitsbergen in the Hinlopen Strait, in difficult ice conditions, made trawling, which was a notable event of the time. Disposal in 1979
