Description:
(Previously in "Mystery Ships") Photographed at Volos in October 2001, the strangest looking cement carrier I've seen. Was the roro ramp for bagged cement? Or were there bulk tanks fitted in the 'garage' space for bulk tankers to tip into? (Photo Copyright G. Frith (C) 2001).
Former name(s):
- Giraglia Ii (Until 2002)

The ship was designed to be used as a shuttle between Corsica island and continent. She was fitted with 10 tanks for 100 t of cement in bulk each, in the lower part of the ship.
Above the tanks was the garage for conventional roro cargo (cars, lorries, etc …)

Yvon

This is the French cement roro carrier GIRAGLIA II (IMO7803542) probably when she was sold in Greece prior to become FILIPPOS K II.
Sadly, she sank the next year, on February 25th 2002, with the lost of her owner and the Owner's wife.

Yvon
