P.& O.'s 1948 Barclay Curle, Glasgow, built SOMALI was photographed on her last homeward voyage, approaching the lock inbound for Avonmouth exactly fifty years ago, on the evening tide of 12th June 1969. She had sailed from Calcutta on 30th April 1969 bound for Avonmouth, Middlesbrough and Rotterdam.
