Yes, rarcand, that is the same ship or the sister, but the name was not "Ancorada". The article title translates "Moored Steamer", and the text "CMN steamer moored at a firewood port". There were very few of this size, with two full raised accommodation decks. This one matches, though:

I think that this is the MELO VIANA/RAUL SOARES, built in Hamburg in 1926/27, or possibly her sister ENGENHEIRO HALFELD, for Empresa Navegação Mineira do Rio São Francisco (formed by the State Government of Minas Gerãis). They were 38m in length and had 360hp steam engines. They were retired by Companhia de Navegação do São Francisco in the 1950s or 1960s

There is a picture (and a song) at http://xiquexiquense.blogspot.com/2011/12/foto-do-rio-sao-francisco-vapor.html
I think the one on the picture on the link was named ANCORADO.

Ok Pieter ... this company changed after to COMPANHIA DE NAVEGAÇAO DO RIO SÃO FRANCISCO.

The text on the vessel is "navegacio mineira do sao francisco", not SAN francisco. A river vessel owned by a mining company in Brazil. Very difficult to find any info after so many years.
