Description:

Alchemy has forty years of history and was last named the Queen of Diamonds. She was originally
constructed as a 120-foot (36.5 meters) Feadship, christened the Intent by the Van Lent shipyards.
She has had many names:
• Intent
• Gillian
• Spellbound
• Cassiar
• Bugler
• Limit B id II
• Queen of Diamonds
In 1995, as the Queen of Diamonds, when she had a 12-foot (3.6 meters) stern added to allow for a cockpit and swim platform accessing the walk in lazerette, and stern entry.

In March 2018 Alchemy was donated by Alison, Lyle, and Taggart Turner to Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. The Turners are founders of the biotechnology company Invitrogen, as well as Alchemy Ventures, an organization that supports coral reef research and conservation.

I agree, she's hardly the sort of vessel suitable for their needs and much too nice to be pressed into such service.

Will be interesting to see if Sea Shepherd will actually use her (I hope not as they will probably run her into the ground). She was listed for sale by brokerage Fraser in late 2018 (price on application), so AFTER the donation to Sea Shepherd.
