Seen at Funchal, Madeira in 1981 this seems to be the only photo of her on site with that specific funnel marking (with the oval containing lettering superimposed). Can anyone say for whom she was sailing at that time?

According to Portuguese expert Luis Miguel Correia, the Funchal was leased by tour operator Agência Abreu several months a year in the 1981-1985 period. Vessel ownership remained with CTM-Companhia Portuguesa de Transportes Marítimos. In LMC's dedicated blog

you will see a photo of Funchal leaving Lisbon on a cruise to the Azores in 1982 and displaying the same funnel logo as in your photo:

Have a read at:
for a pretty good summary of her history.
It seems she may have been on charter to George Potamianos for European cruises in 1981; but no definite information on that funnel.

Will ask in our Facebook group ‘We Love The Smaller Cruise Ships’ see if any of our Portuguese members know the answer to this unusual funnel logo.
