If I can deduce rightly the block of flats were built lately when the area was in use as a berthing quay, so they knew about this problem beforehand, they should have seen this "problem" before committing pen to paper .Could have been worst, container or vehicle carriers.

We have a long time favourite restaurant in Cape Town. Was at the back end of the port in a really suspect building. They relocated to the cruise terminal. Right on the wuay. When a cruise liner or other ship is berthed, patrons complain that their viewis obstructed. There was no view as at the previous location due to expansion etc. Then go home with a take-a-way and shut up or draw your blinds in Ipswich. Lordie folks......I look onto table Mountain and the port, must I complain ? At a loss.....

I read in the Ipswich press that the residents of the new flats have complained about Anglo Norden berthing its ships in front of their residences and blocking the view! I hope Anglo Norden stands firm and refuses to get edged out onto Cliff Quay.

Peter
