I was onboard in the time of photo, it was her first call to US port, then she made once more and round world trip, starts Xiamen to US West-East coast and back to Xiamen straight from Baltimore

Great pics from LA/Long Beach and San Diego. When I saw this picture I thought, wait a minute, really? I saw Thalassa Elpida when I was on a cruise in the Western Mediterranean in April. We were headed for Valencia, and she was making for the Atlantic and her next port calls in NW Europe. No better example of a global industry. She must have started a Trans-Pacific service as soon as she arrived back in Asia.
