Description:

The semisubmersible rig Well-Safe Guardian at Invergordon, Scotland. The rig was built in 1985, as Sea Explorer. In 1992, she was renamed Ocean Guardian. For the first 34 years of her life, she was used for exploration drilling. This was mostly in the North Sea. However, she has conducted drilling operations as far South as the Falkland Islands. In 2019, she was sold to a company called Wellsafe solutions, and renamed Well-Safe Guardian. The company intends to convert her to a rig specializing in providing well abandonment services for sub sea production wells, mostly in the North Sea.
