Is this one also steam / turbine driven? Like "El Faro"?That "garage"...in Jacksonville (FL) just ahead of "El Faro"s usual berth, there is a barge with such a garage that they tow to Puerto Rico.But agree, it's not exactly eye candy...

Yes, it is said that she will be scrapped when new ships come on line. I was still very surprised to see her trading. She looks similar to the ill fated "El Faro", minus that hideous garage thing in the back. By the way, I bought the book "Into the raging sea" about the "El Faro" tragedy. Fascinating reading.

Sure Vlad 46 years of service is pretty impressive. But I guess she will be scrapped when the new con-ros currently in build for Matson will come in service.
