Blue Funnel Line's 1949 Vickers Armstrongs, Newcastle, built AUTOMEDON is seen passing Portishead, inbound for Avonmouth, exactly fifty years ago today, on 7th August 1969. She had sailed from Sandakan (Sabah, Malaysia) on 30th May 1969 bound for London and Avonmouth via Colombo (sailed 29th June).
AUTOMEDON finally arrived at Kaohsiung on 2nd March 1972 for breaking.
