Sulpho Marine Transportation Inc. of Wilmington, Delaware's 1945 New Orleans built EC2-S-AW1 (Liberty collier) type READING is seen passing Hoek van Holland, inbound for Rotterdam from Savannah, on 14th July 1970.

Until 1965 READING was owned by Mystic SS Div, Eastern Gas & Fuel Associates, Boston.

She had raised the Panama flag at some point after sailing from Savannah on 28th June, having been sold during the voyage to Zip Corporation (Rancocas S.S. Co., Philadelphia - President L.Giglio)

In June 1971 she suffered boiler damage and was laid up at Ferrol before arriving at Santander in November 1972 for breaking.
