Cie. Generale Transatlantique (The French Line)'s 1958 Port de Bouc built MARYLAND is seen passing Hoek van Holland, inbound for Rotterdam, on 4th June 1970.
In 1976, the year in which CGT merged with Messageries Maritimes to form Compagnie Générale Maritime (CGM), Maryland was sold to Singapore Islands Line and renamed Senang Island. She was scrapped at Gadani Beach in June 1981.
In 1996, CGM was acquired by Compagnie Maritime d'Affrètement of Marseille, becoming CMA CGM, now one of the world's largest container shipping companies.
