- ALTENWERDER was a Hamburg harbour ferry from 1953 to 1967.
- In March 1967 she was refitted for harbour boat trips and party trips.
- In January 1979 while she was on the slip at von Cölln shipyard for repairs she slid bow-first into the water and was subsequently declared a total loss.
- In April 1979 she was sold to private interest for a symbolic price of DM 1,000. By that time almost all of her machinery was already gone and she never received another engine.
- Nothing much happened until 1988 when she was bought by "Förderkreis Haus der Jugend Finkenwerder e.V.". Members of this registered society derusted and preserved her hull (she was as good as completely gutted) and she found a permanent berth at Finkenwerder Kutterhafen.
- In 2001 she was cored at Buschmann shipyard.
- In 2002 interior work started to convert her into a theatre and event ship...
