Oliver Hazard Perry Class Frigate - June 1999
USS SAMUEL ELIOT MORISON was the sixth "short hull" - version in the OLIVER HAZARD PERRY class and from June 1, 1986 on, she was part of the NRF.
Decommissioned April 11, 2002, SAMUEL ELIOT MORISON was turned over to the Turkish Navy as part of the US foreign military sales program the same day and was renamed GOKOVA.
