Metacentre more important than centre of gravity.

Where is the centre of gravity of this vessel, I wonder...

With cruise ships evolving from how they beautifully looked in early 2000s to this, how would they look in 20 years from now, cause I think this is the end point in their exterior appearance.

She looks as a parody on all other modern cruise ships.

I agree with Jon, Ted, and Phil. I have cruised with NCL and enjoy the experience. But we who complain about the (exterior) APPEARANCE do have reason to complain. While the interior is no doubt stunning, the exterior has no concern with aesthetics at all! Can't something be done about that? The hull 'art' could have been an opportunity to help the exterior instead of encourage nausea.

I have sailed on her sister Bliss and near sister Getaway and they are fantastic ships, lovely on board facilities and cabins. Two excellent cruises and will certainly plan another!

Well,, Once you are on the ship, one does not see the ¨APPEARANCE¨ . But what I hear one goes there to enjoy what they have to offer and it seems to me, like Phil states, that is enough reason to be there.

For the majority of cruisers, the outward appearance of the ship is of little consequence. It's all about the overall cruise experience. Of course, there are those who wouldn't touch her with a barge pole, but they're not the people being targeted by the big cruise lines.

Im normally not one to get involved in these conversations but as Clive said.. OMG. what an awful looking thing. I wonder how this is in any way appealing or inviting to go on board. Id rather cruise on a livestock carrier

I hate to agree with you, but it is an unfortunate mass of a barge. It is as though they have attempted to crowd as much as possible onto the hull. The graphic too is awful, which is the worst part about the unfortunate ship. The colors are terrible and it makes no sense at all. No, they've gone too far on this one.

Sean, I saw the first few of your words on 'latest photo comments' on the Home Page, so had to see what you were talking about. I then said something like "OMG, that's awful" and then burst out laughing. Truly, you are right in your opinion that this has to be the most unattractive cruise ship …. We thought Norwegian Epic was bad and then there were the new Aida ships and then Celebrity Edge but at least with those ships there is something that you can focus on. With this 'thing' it is just one vast hideous block. Truly, utterly dire.

The latest newbuilds from NCL aren't exactly attractive looking vessels but their latest, the Norwegian Encore has to be the most unattractive cruise ship to date. It even beats the Norwegian Epic and that's saying something.

I appreciate the fact that her funnel has to be short due to the height of the vessel and for clearance under bridges such as the Varrzano Bridge but it looks absolutely hideous.

I will be working for NCL in the Port of Southampton when the Norwegian Encore embarks on her maiden voyage later this month so I will get a close up and personal view of her.

Excited about seeing her, absolutely not as I've never been excited about any of the NCL ships. After going on the maiden voyage of the Norwegian Getaway a few years ago, never again.
