|French naval hydrographic ship LAPLACE (A793), anchored in the north-east lagoon of New-Caledonia, on March 1993.
She was a ship base for two small launches fitted with echo sounder and sonar, and used in the shallow waters, in order to chart the area.
At this date, LAPLACE was based at Nouméa (New-Caledonia). Now she is based at Brest (less sunny !).
