Hi Gents,

There was nothing wrong with STX Pan Ocean as such. It was the STX Group itself that ran into difficulties due to the shipbuilding activities and this radiated onto the rest of the group. When STX was in bankruptcy procedure, STX Pan Ocean was sold to the Korean Development Bank (for restructuring) and subsequent rebranding as "Pan Ocean Co" and sold on to the Harim Group and is flourishing again...

BTW: I like the livery and the image, Vlad. Well done!

Cheers,
Herbert

Thanks for your comments. The way I understand it, STX Pan Ocean filed for bankruptcy in 2012, but were back in black (or close to it) in 2015. They since had also some bulk carriers built at Hanjin, "Pan Dangjin" comes to mind. Also, here at HMD in Ulsan there's another feeder for them, "Pos Hochiminh".

Cheers

Vlad

You wouldn't think anything ever happened from reading their website:

Thanks Vlad, indeed strange to see a new ship in this livery, I thought they were bankrupt.
