Description:
The wreck lies between Arrecife and Costa Teguise
The Temple Hall was built in 1954 by Caledon Shipbuilding and Engineering (Dundee) and added to the Harrisons (Clyde) fleet.
In 1969, renamed Pantelis and registered in Piraeus and sold to Demetrios P. Margaronis, who a year later sold her to Viajes Sud America of Panama but keeping the same name and flag.
During 1977 renamed Telamon and owned by Telamon Maritime Co. SA and managed by Armour Shipping Inc. Greece.
On October 31st 1981 the Telamon, with a crew of 29, was en route from San Pedro (Ivory Coast) to Thessaloniki with a cargo of logs. Off the coast of Lanzerote she sprung a leak. Due to the amount of water being taken onboard it was decided to gently run aground on the sandy bottom of the bay near the small port of Los Marmoles.
Shortly after, the cargo was transferred ashore. During a later storm the Telamon changed position and split in two.
In 2014 permission to dismantle and scrap the vessel was announced. As of yet, work has not started.
