Description:

On December 1, 1976, the tanker APOLLONIAN WAVE is en route from Falmouth in England to San Esteban de Pravia, in Spain, to be broken up. After an engine failure during a terrible storm, the vessel drifts in the Bay of Biscay. The german tug PACIFIC try to tow her without success. On December 2, the crew is evacuated and the ship runs aground in the "Lespecier Beach", in Mimizan, Landes, France, at 700 meters from the freighter VIRGO, stranded there the night before. The complete story of the two vessels, there : http://www.philippe-ships.com/casualties/apollonian_wave-virgo-1976.html
