COMMENT THIS PHOTO(1)
It was a very long series of ships, the first of which was named VORKUTA (Modified version of the coal carrier B-31 (s/s DONBAS was the first).15 vessels in this series have been converted for the transport and processing of fish. One of those rebuilt was a steamer Salomeya Neris. Originally the ship's home port was Klaipeda, later NEVELSK and finally KORSAKOV.The ship died as a wreck south of Sakhalin (near ITURUP island).

Crew: Unable to find crew numbers for this Soviet-operated ship.
The crew of the s/s SZCZECIN (B31/II/11 - original version; coal carrier) operated by the Polish shipowner (P?M) consisted of 33 to 36 people at various periods.
Taking into account the specificity of the ship for the transport and processing of fish, as well as the specificity of the flag country (Soviet Union), it should be assumed that the number of crew on the s/s SALOMEYA NERIS was significantly higher than on the ship under the Polish flag.
