I booked my first voage on a cargo ship at the begining of 1980 from Cape Town to Durban on the Hellenic Glory...then I was conscipted in the army for 2 years and no trip. I had saved so much and was deeply disappointed but conscription was compulsory and my intake date was brought forward... :( Any body have a photo of her ?

So many memories this pic brings back to me. Hellenic Sea was my first ship to join as an Apprentice Engineer right after graduating from the Greek Maritime Academy named " IFAISTOS" in April 28 1972 at Turku Finland at Wartsila Shipyard, We received the vessel after the sea trials and and headed to New Orleans USA. Loaded at deferent ports and sailed for Persian Gulf, Dammam was one of them, it is so nice to see a pic from that trip after so many years. Thank you very much for posting this beautiful picture. If that tug boat was not smoking so bad, the ship would be seen nice. She was a beauty.
