By the way not the first accident here.
Earlier this year two mobile harbour cranes fell off JUMBO VISION (http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=3107925) and it took five weeks to salvage them and clear the harbour.

Report (in german):

https://www.ndr.de/nachrichten/mecklenburg-vorpommern/Rostock-Kraene-stuerzen-in-Hafenbecken-Schiff-beschaedigt,hafenkran130.html

https://www.ndr.de/nachrichten/mecklenburg-vorpommern/Rostock-Bergung-der-Hafenkraene-abgeschlossen,hafenkran148.html

They were already aboard the ship when one of the ship's cranes touched one of the mobile cranes causing it to tip overboard and the ship to list so that the second crane fell overboard, too. One minor injury, a damaged ship and two cranes for 3.5 million Euros a piece lost.

Best regards,

Michael.

During a test two days ago (on saturday) the new crane of this ship was destroyed.

Report (in german):

https://www.ndr.de/nachrichten/mecklenburg-vorpommern/Rostock-Millionenschaden-und-Verletzte-bei-Kranunfall,hafenkran156.html

As a test, the completed crane tried to lift a 5500 ton barge out of the harbour.
During the test the hook broke and the tension caused the crane to flip over and brake into pieces. 12 people with minor injuries and 50-100 million Euros damage ...

Best regards,

Michael.
